Overlord 2
In Overlord II, the new Overlord and a more powerful Minions horde take on the Glorious Empire, an advanced Romanesque nation, in a truly epic yet familiarly warped adventure.

Ever since the events at the end of Overlord: Raising Hell, the Overlord has been absent from the world and, without his firm grip on the kingdom, the lands have being conquered by the Glorious Empire. On the surface, the Glorious Empire is a civilisation driven by righteous politicians and supported with a mighty military force. However, in practice the Empire is decadent, corrupt and dangerous. And if there's one thing the Glorious Empire hates, it's magic and magical beings.

The Empire’s Inquisition is on the hunt for anyone who has magical resonance. In the Arctic wastelands, where Yetis roam, lies the snowy town of Nordberg. Here a young lad is singled out by the Inquisition and accused of possessing a magical force (what with him having strange glowing eyes and everything). However, as he is led off, the Empire guards come under attack from a band of strange little leathery, big-eared, yellow-eyed beasts: it’s the Minions! With a rousing cry of “Master” the devilishly charming critters carry the boy off – they’ve found their new Overlord.

After some years of intensive Minion training, step into the now-adult sized boots of the Overlord. Initially it’s a rag-tag band of Minions under his command but off they go, looting, destroying and laying waste to the lands around Nordberg, scoring victories where they can, before setting sights on the lands at the very heart of the Empire. As the Overlord’s powers grow, the secrets of the Empire, and those of his own origins, will be revealed and then it’s time to go Minion maximus on the Empire’s collective ass. Choose how to wield the Overlord’s evil forces. Do they plunder and pillage across the lands, burn cities on a whim in wild acts of destruction? Or do they follow a path of domination, enslaving towns and exerting their will upon the people? Only true despots will be able to make the ultimate choice between being a ‘destructive’ or a ‘dominating’ dark lord.

Tales of Vesperia
A power struggle begins in a civilization dependant on an ancient technology, the blastia, and the Empire that controls it. The fates of two friends travelling separate paths intertwine in an epic adventure that threatens the existence of all. Tales of Vesperia marks the first Tales RPG release in high-def with detail and graphics never before seen in the series.

Now, real-time battles are more exciting than ever with over limits, the ability to unleash fatal strikes, combinations and burst artes. The next evolution of the revered role-playing series comes to the Xbox 360.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Based on Hasbro's legendary Transformers property and one of the most anticipated films of 2009 from Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen thrusts players into a battle for supremacy across the globe as either Autobots or Decepticons to drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels.
Delivering extensive control, gamers can select from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers ever – each with distinct personalities, abilities and weaponry – and jump straight into action as they instantly switch between robot, vehicle and weapon modes to fight for the preservation or annihilation of all mankind. In addition, for the first time in the Transformers universe, players can also fight the epic war between Autobots and Decepticons online in explosive multiplayer combat.

The Big Bang Theory - Playing Rock Band

Started watching the Big Bang Theory last week by accident, after flicking through the chanels on Sky. Have now seen the first 2 episodes and really enjoyed them both!

All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Xbox Live Down for 24 Hour Maintenance

Xbox Live is down for 24 Hours today (16th June 09) while Microsoft performs maintenance on the service.

Has this affected anyone's Achievements like the Obsessive 100 days in a row playing the game while connected to xbox live achievement in Brothers in Arms?

Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway

I'd been looking forward to this game for a long time and then when it finally came out I brought it but never played it! Some 8 months later I've started and finished it after 3 or 4 evenings of play.

The game is set during the closing months of WW2 and what makes it slightly different is it's a squad based shooter, so running and shooting doesn't tend to work in this game. You have to use your squad to help. The Graphics are good and so are the cut scenes, but they do go on for a bit to long!

Controlling your squad is easy "B" select team and "LT" to order (move, fire or destroy). The rest of the controls are standard.

You'll get most of the Achievements on your first play through. but there's a few to work on, "Obsessive" 100G while connected to Xbox Live, play the game for 100 days!
There's a multiplayer mode but I can't comment on that, as I haven't tried it!

It's a good game and has some great moments, but not the best in it's genre.

Amazon reviewers give 3 1/2 out of 5 on average which I think is about right! This game is a good buy for under £13.

How I Got Started and Now

I've been into gaming for a long time now, ever since the Atari 2600. I don't remember asking for it and I don't think it was a birthday or Christmas present, but I do remember walking into the lounge and seeing this strange box plugged into the tv!

From that day on I think you can say I was hooked!

Since then I've owned a Intellivision, Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga 500, Super Famicon (snes), Sega Mega Drive, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, plus a few handhelds and PC's. Haven't brought a PS3 yet! I think it will happen at some point, just waiting for the price to come down nearer 200 pounds!! I found the receipt for my PS1 the other day and it cost me 290 pounds in 1995 the same price as a PS3 now!

Leading up to the launch of the xbox 360 Console I wasn't planning on getting one until Christmas a few weeks after the launch and then everywhere started to sell out of their pre orders, so I thought I wasn't going to get one and then the night before the official uk launch I was out shopping, so I asked in a few of the shops if they had any left to sell the next day, most replied no but Toy's R Us said yes and we expect people to start queuing after midnight, but we're not going to open until 7am. I ended up not sleeping that night because I was so excited at maybe being able to get one, I got up at 3am and went and queued outside Toy's R Us from 4am, I was 17th in the queue!! I managed to get one in a very expensive bundle including a couple of DVD's that weren't even related to gaming! Unfortunately I was under strict instructions from my wife not to play it until Christmas as it was a present from her!! On getting it home I thought I'd better check to make sure it was working ;-) I was good and only tried my old xbox games, honest!

My first 360 died of the Red Ring of Death (RROD) a few years later, MS replaced it but that one was never quite right and kept freezing so that was replaced again by MS, in October 08 it stopped reading game and music disks, so my misses brought me a new 60gig 360 that's been fine so far!
After searching youtube I found a few fixes for my old machine, the first was to insert some thin but strong cardboard into the 360's dvd drive to release a small piece of metal that had got magnetised, this worked for a while.

I ended up taking the 360 and dvd drive apart and adding a drop of olive oil to the spindle, after a lot of fiddling around I got it working again and now use the machine for system link parties I host now and then! I've copied Left 4 Dead and Halo 3 to the hard drive which stops the drive from having to spin while playing, hopefully keeping the machine going for longer.
